At Kihikihi School we have five learning dispositions. These learning dispositions will help us become effective learners today so we can strive to be successful in the future with everything we do.
We do our six Self Manager tasks in the morning to get ready for the school day.
We have to put our shoes neatly up against the wall on the deck. This is a school rule.
We keep our classroom tidy - we try to pick up any rubbish or equipment that we have dropped.
We keep our desks neat and tidy.
We do our learning tasks without disturbing others' learning.
We try to make the right choices about our learning and behaviour.
We manage our time, we try to finish our learning tasks on time.
Team Players
We work well in team situations.
We help others when they need help.
We look after our classmates by caring about them if they are hurt or not sure of what to do.
We are considerate of others' at all times.
During sporting activities we are fair players.
We encourage others and we are learning to be positive role models.
Good communicators
We share our valuable ideas during small group teaching sessions.
During class discussions we can share our ideas.
We try to organise our ideas sequentially when writing in a variety of ways.
We check our work when we have finished our learning tasks to make sure that it makes sense.
When others are talking, we listen with good manners.
We value the ideas of others.
Thinkers
We think carefully about making the right choices every day, both inside and outside the classroom.
We try to think before we act, and we try to make sure that our behaviour is acceptable.
When we are doing our learning tasks, we think carefully about what we are doing.
Inquirers
We use the Inquiry Learning model when we are researching a topic of interest.
At school we have child friendly sites on the Internet that we can use to help research any information we may need.
The Search Engines page on this wikispace are child friendly sites that we use.
We have an inquiring mind and enjoy learning in Room 2!
In Room 2 we are learning to be effective:
